THE STORY BEHIND SPEAKUA KIDS
For a long time, parents reached out to the SpeakUA team with one request: help teaching Ukrainian to their children and teenagers. At first, this was handled through a dedicated page on the main website. But over the past year, those requests multiplied — and it became clear that children deserve their own space, their own approach, and their own platform.
That is how SpeakUA Kids was born. It is a natural extension of SpeakUA's core mission: to spread the Ukrainian language and keep it alive wherever Ukrainians are in the world. For children and teenagers growing up abroad, this project is about more than vocabulary and grammar. It is about preserving the thread that connects them to grandparents, cousins, and the home they remember — or the one they have never yet seen.
WHY UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE LEARNING FOR CHILDREN MATTERS MORE THAN EVER
For many families scattered across Europe and beyond since 2022, the question of how to teach kids Ukrainian has become urgent and deeply personal. Children who moved abroad with their parents began attending local schools, making new friends, and naturally shifting toward the language of their new environment. It happens quickly — sometimes within months. The Ukrainian language, if not actively nurtured, starts to fade.
