We provide individual lessons, group lessons, speaking clubs, online courses, digital learning materials, physical products, gift cards, and access to learning platforms.These Terms apply together with the product or course description and any specific conditions provided before purchase. Your order confirmation records the agreed purchase. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights.Purchasers must be at least 18. Where an adult books an eligible service for a younger learner, the adult is responsible for the booking and payment. SpeakUA Kids purchases are governed by the terms presented at its checkout.
2. Orders and contract formation.Before placing an order, please check the product, course dates, lesson availability, contact details, and any delivery address. You can contact us to request correction of an error.A contract is formed when we send an order acceptance or booking confirmation. An automatic acknowledgement of receipt is not acceptance unless it expressly confirms acceptance. If we cannot accept an order or provide the requested service, we will explain this and refund any payment taken for that order. We will not substitute a different product or course without your agreement.We provide confirmation and a copy of the applicable Terms in a form you can save. Please retain these for reference.
3. Price payments and instalments.The total price, currency, applicable taxes, delivery costs, and any other charges we collect are shown before payment. Your bank or payment provider may apply its own disclosed exchange rates or charges.Payment methods may include PayPal, Revolut, Wise, bank transfer, and other options shown at checkout. Full payment is due before access begins unless an instalment plan has been agreed.For instalment purchases, the total price, each payment amount, and due dates are provided before purchase. An instalment plan spreads the cost of a fixed purchase; it is not a monthly subscription unless expressly described as one. Choosing not to attend does not itself cancel the agreed payments. Statutory cancellation, refunds, and any agreed termination still apply.If a payment is overdue, we will contact you and give a reasonable opportunity to resolve it before suspending access. We will explain the effect on your booking and access period. Any further action or amount retained must be proportionate and lawful.
4. Individual lessons and lesson packages.Lessons are scheduled at mutually agreed times. Booking confirmation may take up to 24 hours after payment. Payment does not guarantee a particular teacher or time unless confirmed before purchase.Lesson duration, package size, and any expiry date are stated before purchase. We do not apply an undisclosed expiry date retrospectively.Please join on time using the meeting details provided. If you arrive late, the lesson normally ends at the scheduled time. We will explain any no-show waiting period before booking.
Cancellation and reschedulingYou may cancel or reschedule an individual lesson without a late-cancellation charge by notifying us at least 12 hours before its scheduled start. Send notice through email to moc.aukaeps%40ofni. Notice counts when received; times are measured against the confirmed lesson start time.For less than 12 hours’ notice or a no-show, we may charge up to the lesson price or deduct the corresponding lesson credit. Any charge must reflect a reasonable assessment of the loss caused, taking account of costs saved or a replacement booking. This is a late cancellation, not a completed lesson. Please contact us promptly about emergencies so we can consider the circumstances.This scheduling rule does not replace statutory cancellation rights described in section 9. Group-course absences are covered by section 6. If we or the teacher cancel or cannot complete a lesson, you will not be charged for undelivered teaching. We will offer a suitable replacement, credit, or an appropriate refund. You do not have to accept indefinite credit where we cannot provide a suitable replacement within a reasonable time.
5. Online courses.From an Absolute Beginner to a Confident SpeakerThe course runs for five months from its official cohort start date. The first four months include curator support and feedback through Telegram; the final month is for self-study. The course includes 16 modules, 25 lessons, eight live Zoom sessions, assignments, quizzes, and additional downloadable materials. Course content is hosted on SendPulse. Access to the course platform closes at the end of the five-month period. Students may purchase an additional three or six months of platform access. Extension prices and inclusions are provided before purchase. An extension does not automatically include renewed curator support, additional live sessions, or enrolment in a new cohort. The product page and order confirmation specify the course dates, schedule, access period, and availability of live-session recordings.
Intermediate Ukrainian CourseThe course consists of live online group lessons over two months, with up to eight students per group. The course level, schedule, number of lessons, and lesson duration are provided before purchase. If you miss a lesson, you can catch up by watching its recording on Google Drive. The recording access period is stated before purchase. Missed group lessons do not entitle you to individual replacement sessions. If we provide the lessons and access as agreed, choosing not to attend or watch recordings does not, by itself, entitle you to a refund or transfer to a later cohort. This does not affect your statutory cancellation rights or rights where the service is not provided as agreed.
Other courses clubs and eventsThe relevant description specifies the dates, format, inclusions, access period, and any product-specific conditions for speaking clubs, marathons, and other events. We may make minor changes to materials or replace a platform with a suitable alternative where this does not materially reduce the promised service or create unreasonable additional requirements. Material changes are addressed in section 14.
6. Attendance unused access and later cohorts.Course enrolment applies to the particular cohort purchased. If we provide the service and access as agreed, choosing not to attend, log in, complete assignments, or use materials does not automatically entitle you to a refund, extra teaching, or extended access.
Unused participation does not automatically become credit towards another cohort. Joining a later cohort requires a new purchase unless we agree otherwise in writing. Missing a scheduled group lesson does not entitle you to an individual replacement lesson. Recordings and catch-up resources are provided as described before purchase.
Pauses and DeferralsStudents taking one-to-one lessons or online courses may request a temporary pause of up to two weeks by contacting us in writing before their package or course access expires. Approval depends on the service format and availability. For one-to-one lessons, we will confirm any extension to the package validity period. Lessons already booked remain subject to our cancellation and rescheduling policy unless we agree otherwise. For courses, we will confirm whether an approved pause extends platform access, tutor support, or both. A pause does not postpone the cohort’s live lessons or guarantee replacement sessions. A pause or deferral does not change instalment dates unless agreed in writing. Requests to transfer to a later cohort must be submitted before the original cohort ends and are subject to written approval and availability. These conditions do not affect your statutory cancellation rights or remedies where we fail to provide the service as agreed.
7. Technical requirements and student responsibilities.Before purchase, we provide the essential device, software, internet, and printing requirements. You are responsible for meeting those disclosed requirements and providing accurate booking information.Some activities require printing worksheets and submitting completed work electronically. You are responsible for your printing costs unless the product description states otherwise.Please tell us promptly if you cannot access a lesson or materials. We will investigate problems within our responsibility and provide appropriate assistance. Disclosed technical requirements do not exclude your rights where our services or content fail to work as promised.Keep your account credentials secure and do not share access outside any licence expressly included in your purchase.
8. Delivery of products and gift cards.E-booksYour e-book will be sent to the email address provided at checkout within 24 hours of purchase. Please check your Spam/Junk folder before contacting us if it has not arrived. The product description states the file format and essential compatibility requirements.
Printed textbooks and workbooksPrinted textbooks and workbooks are printed and fulfilled by Amazon. Delivery options, charges, and estimates are shown at the relevant checkout and vary by location. Where you purchase directly through Amazon, the seller identified at Amazon checkout is responsible for that sale, and its applicable terms and returns process apply. Where Speak Ukrainian Ltd sells the product directly, we remain responsible to you even if Amazon fulfils delivery.
FlashcardsFlashcards are shipped from Ukraine. Estimated delivery is up to one month from purchase, depending on destination. Please contact us if an order is late, missing, damaged, or incorrect. Goods sold by us remain at our risk until delivered to you or your nominated recipient, except where the law provides otherwise for a carrier independently commissioned by you.
Gift cardsGift cards are emailed as a printable PDF with a redemption code within 24 hours of purchase. You can forward the email or print the card for the recipient.
- Valid for six months from purchase for lessons, courses, materials, and other products on our website.- Redeemable in one transaction only. Any unused balance is forfeited.- Purchases exceeding the card’s value require payment of the difference.- If the card covers the full purchase price, an additional US$1 payment is required.- Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash. 9. Your statutory cancellation rights.This section explains the usual UK cancellation rights for qualifying online purchases. Other mandatory consumer protections may apply where you live.Lessons and teaching servicesYou generally have 14 days after the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason. If you want teaching to begin during that period, we obtain your express request and explain any payment due if you subsequently cancel.If you cancel during the cooling-off period after requesting an early start, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for services actually supplied, provided we have met the applicable information and consent requirements. The right to cancel is lost on full performance only where the legal conditions are met, including your prior express request and acknowledgement. Merely starting a multi-session course does not automatically remove the right.
Digital contentFor digital content supplied without a physical medium, you generally have 14 days after the contract is made to cancel. To supply it immediately and end that cancellation right when supply begins, we obtain your express consent and acknowledgement that you will lose the right, and confirm this agreement in a form you can save. If these requirements are not met, the cancellation right is not removed simply because access was provided.Where a purchase combines digital content and teaching, we explain the applicable rights for each element. Consent to early digital access does not automatically waive rights for undelivered teaching.
Physical products purchased from usFor ordinary books, workbooks, and flashcards bought online from us, you generally have 14 days after delivery to notify us of cancellation, followed by 14 days to send the goods back. For one order delivered in separate parts, the relevant cancellation period generally starts after the final part is received. Any lawful exception must be explained before purchase.We refund the price and the cost of our standard outbound delivery option. Extra costs for an upgraded delivery method need not be refunded. We may deduct for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the goods, where legally permitted.You pay the direct cost of a change-of-mind return only if we told you this before purchase. We bear reasonable return costs for faulty, damaged, or incorrect goods where required by law. You may use the form at the end of these Terms but do not have to. Sending your cancellation before the deadline is sufficient.For statutory cancellations, we refund without undue delay and normally within 14 days after being informed. For goods, we may withhold reimbursement until we receive the goods or evidence of return, whichever is earlier, unless we have offered to collect them. Any lawful deduction for services supplied is explained. Refunds use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, with no refund fee.
10. Additional refunds and problems with a purchase.Beginner and Intermediate coursesWe offer a full refund on request before the official start date of the purchased Beginner or Intermediate cohort. After it starts, we do not offer an additional change-of-mind refund beyond statutory rights and the fair cancellation arrangements below.If you cancel after the statutory cooling-off period, any amount we retain must be fair and proportionate, taking account of what was supplied, reasonable losses, costs saved, and any replacement booking. We explain the calculation and refund any balance due. The start date alone does not justify automatically retaining the entire fee.
Unused individual lesson packagesContact us if you wish to cancel an unused or partly used package. We assess any refund against statutory rights and fair cancellation principles, taking account of lessons supplied and any valid late-cancellation charges. We do not apply undisclosed penalties or retrospective price increases to lessons already taken.
Faults or failure to deliverWe must supply goods and digital content of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described, and perform services with reasonable care and skill. Depending on the circumstances, your remedies may include repair, replacement, repeat performance, a price reduction, rejection of goods, or a refund. These rights are separate from change-of-mind rights and continue after a cooling-off period ends.If we cancel a course and cannot provide it as agreed, we offer an appropriate refund for undelivered services. You may choose an alternative cohort or credit, but we will not require you to accept it instead of a refund you are entitled to.
11. Recordings and privacy.Relevant sessions may be recorded as explained before booking and in our Privacy Policy. Live lessons use Zoom or Google Meet; trial lessons are recorded through Grain. Any transcription or automated-note features used are described in the Privacy Policy.Where we rely on consent for recording, we obtain it separately. Accepting these Terms does not itself give recording or promotional consent. Participation choices and any applicable restrictions are explained before recording.Students must not record or distribute lessons or other participants’ personal information without the necessary permissions, subject to applicable law and any agreed accessibility arrangements.Our Privacy Policy is available at https://speakua.com/privacy-policy
12. Conduct and suspensionTreat teachers, staff, and other students respectfully. Harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, deliberate disruption, unauthorised account access, and unlawful distribution of materials are not permitted.We may act immediately where necessary to protect safety or prevent serious misuse. For less serious issues, we normally explain the concern and provide an opportunity to correct it. Any suspension or termination must be proportionate, and we will explain the decision and how to raise a concern.Termination does not automatically result in loss of all unused payments. We assess any refund and lawful deductions fairly, considering services supplied and losses caused by the breach without double recovery.
13. Intellectual property and personal use.Our materials, recordings, branding, and learning resources are owned by or licensed to Speak Ukrainian Ltd. Your purchase grants personal educational use within the access period and scope described before purchase.You may download and print materials where the product permits this, including worksheets required for study. You must not resell, redistribute, publish, commercially reproduce, or share access to materials without permission, except as permitted by law.You retain ownership of your original work. We may use submitted work as necessary to teach, assess, and provide feedback. Public promotional use requires separate permission where applicable.
14. Changes and events outside our control.We may make reasonable changes for valid reasons such as legal requirements, security, essential platform changes, or teacher unavailability. We will give as much notice as reasonably possible and seek to preserve the substance and value of your purchase.For a material change that disadvantages you, we will explain available alternatives and any right to cancel the affected part and receive an appropriate refund. We will not increase the agreed price of an existing purchase without your agreement.War, natural disasters, serious power or network disruption, government restrictions, epidemics, or similar events may affect delivery. We will notify you, take reasonable steps to reduce disruption, and explain replacement arrangements. If disruption continues beyond a reasonable period or defeats the purpose of the booking, you may cancel the affected undelivered services and receive any refund due. We do not automatically retain payment for services we cannot deliver.Updated Terms generally apply to future purchases. Your existing purchase remains governed by the version accepted at purchase, except for changes lawfully required or fairly agreed with you. Continued use alone is not acceptance of a material adverse change to an existing contract.
15. Learning outcomes and liability.Progress depends on participation, practice, and individual circumstances. We do not guarantee a particular fluency level, examination result, or completion timeline unless expressly promised as part of your purchase. This does not reduce our obligation to deliver the service and support described.We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for problems solely caused by your failure to meet clearly disclosed technical requirements, but this does not excuse faults in our service.Our services are supplied for personal learning. We do not accept liability for business losses arising from business use, subject to applicable law.Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, statutory consumer rights, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
16. Complaints and governing law.Please send complaints to moc.aukaeps%40ofni, including the order details and the outcome you are seeking. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and respond substantively within 48 hours. We will explain if more time is needed.If we cannot resolve a complaint, we will provide information about applicable alternative dispute resolution options where required, including whether we are obliged or willing to participate. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Consumers retain mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in the courts available to them under applicable law, including those of their home jurisdiction where relevant. We encourage good-faith discussion, but you do not have to complete negotiations before exercising legal rights.
17. Model cancellation form.Complete and return this form only if you wish to cancel the contract.
