Music and patriotic songs always help encourage soldiers and civilians in their fight. And how can we invigorate Ukraine without music, songs, jokes and laughs?

Okean Elzy is one of the most well-known Ukrainian bands. Now Sviatoslav Vakarchuk, the frontman of Okean Elzy is travelling all over Ukraine and supports Ukrainians.

3. KALUSH Orchestra – Stefania
Калуш Оркестра – Стефанія
Kalush is a Ukrainian rap band with the name taken after the frontman’s hometown Kalush in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
This song is a unique combination of rap and folk music and is devoted to the frontman’s mother.
There are beautiful pipe melodies and vocal performances in this composition.

This year the song “Stefania” will be presented in the annual European contest “Eurovision”.
4. Taras Borovok “Byaraktar”

This song is written by a simple soldier Taras Borovok who has attended only four music classes. But the song very quickly became popular because it has a simple and catchy beat.
The song is dedicated to the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 combat drone, which Ukrainian soldiers successfully use to protect Ukraine from the Russian invasion.

5. Andrii Khlyvniuk (Boomboks band) “Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow”

In March, the leader of a famous Ukrainian funk, rock, and rap band, Andrii Khlyvniuk recorded the Ukrainian patriotic march in Kyiv.
Andrii Khlyvniuk joined the territorial defence of Kyiv to protect the city he lives in from Russian aggression.
Originally song “Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow” is a Ukrainian patriotic march written by the composer Stepan Charnetskii in 1914 in honour and memory of the Sich Riflemen.
A rendition by Andriy Khlyvnyuk was remixed by the South African musician The Kiffness.

6. Botashe –ПНХ
Another famous song where the motto of the Russian-Ukrainian War is said about the soldiers at Snake Island who told an attacking Russian warship: “Russian warship go f*ck yourself.”
7. Khrystyna Solovii “Ukainian fury”
Христина Соловій «Українська лють»
A Ukrainian lyric singer Krystyna Solovii has made a beautiful patriotic song that expresses the Ukrainian fury towards the Russian occupants.
8. Tina Karol and Yulya Sanina – Free
Тіна Кароль і Юлія Саніна – Вільна
This song was made before the war and is on the film’s soundtrack “Viddana” (Felix Austria). But in the context of contemporary warfare, the song’s lyrics have a new understanding.
9. Jamala 1944
A Ukrainian – Crimean Tatar singer Jamala performed her song “1944” in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016 and won.
The song is about Stalin’s deportation of the Crimean Tatars in the 1940s, but the lyrics are still relevant today since they are about the crimes against humanity.
Jamala was inspired by the story of her great-grandmother Nazylkhan, who was in her mid-20s when she and her five children were deported to barren Central Asia.
Now Jamala is touring the European cities, singing, and collecting donations for the Ukrainians in need.
10. The national Ukrainian Anthem, “Ukraine hasn’t died.”
Національний гімн України «Ще не вмерла Україна»
This anthem unites all Ukrainians from 1862 onwards.
It’s impossible to conquer a nation the anthem of which contains the words: “We’ll lay our soul and body for our freedom.”
Brave Ukrainians stop the Russian tanks barehanded while singing, “Ukraine hasn’t died.”
